Iakovos Strikis was born in 1985 in Athens and grew up in the neighborhood of Haidari, where he discovered his talent for the art of photography.
His first photographs were none other than those we are used to taking on vacation (p. Those with the statue in the square on the background or hugging with parents and relatives in the central cafe of the village square). However, soon James soon discovered that he wanted more than just a souvenir photo, resulting in him starting to take up photography as a hobby by the time he finished high school and it was time to study. By the time, of course, he had begun to understand concepts such as portraiture and lighting, and had already made some of the best portraits of his family members.
In 2003, it was time for him to pursue what he loved most and attended a photography school so that he could be considered a professional in the genre. From the very second semester of his studies, Iakovos began to work professionally alongside well-known photographers of the time in the field of photojournalism and advertising photography, while also working on his own thematic projects, such as the children of lanterns or the recording of the art of old professions (p. Karavomaragos, etc.).
Graduating from photography school, he worked for several years as a freelance photojournalist, makingsubjects, which had to do exclusively with man. So through his contact with people, he slowly began to discover wedding photography...
As he characteristically states:
**” Wedding photography is something special to me. There is no ugly groom or bride, but only a photographer who does not see the special beauty that each of them hides.” **
As a highly demanding photographer, he has never stopped attending Wedding and Portrait photography seminars and being informed through them about international developments in his field, as well as exhibiting his work in Wedding photography competitions in Greece and abroad in international competitions with huge competitiveness.
James, as a wedding photographer, considers it an inviolable rule to do this job, to respect the couple and to accurately capture the unique moments for them. After all, these moments must be captured with the same uniqueness that you experience them and that will keep your memories alive for a lifetime...
